Weight Concern carries out research into the causes, prevention and treatment of obesity. Current research activities are focused on establishing a controlled trial of the charity's childhood obesity treatment, which aims to show if the treatment programme: is consistently effective for a larger numbers of families continues working over a number of years is more effective (and cost effective) than the current practice of giving dietary advice to parents The charity has run a successful pilot of this method of treatment.
