| Slimfast |
The Slimfast range of foods consist of calorie-controlled meal replacements and snacks, available
from supermarkets and pharmacists. Products available include instant soups, snack bars, dried
pasta-based meals, shakes and frozen calorie-counted ready meals.
Slimfast recommend replacing two meals a day with a Slimfast replacement and eating a calorie-controlled main meal.
Slimfast also recommends taking exercise as well as restricting
your diet. The Slimfast website offers additional support, in the form of e-mailed newsletters,
recipe ideas, on-line food diary and weight chart etc.
The Slimfast diet is, therefore, basically a calorie-controlled diet using specialised foods.
Some research studies have supported the relatively longer-term effectiveness of the Slimfast diet.
Don't forget: if you decide to follow a particular diet and lose weight, then go back to the old
habits that made you overweight in the first place, you will become overweight again.
Note:
Weight Concern does not receive any funding from manufacturers or retailers of any commercial
weight loss programme.
